Czech Presidency in the Council of the EU - \u00daNMZ<\/strong><\/p>\n

On July 1, 2022, the Czech Republic began its second Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU (CZ PRES), for the first time the Czech Republic headed the EU in the first half of 2009. Preparations for the performance of the CZ PRES function were started in 2018 following the Government Resolution No. 451 of 10 July 2018 to start the government's preparations for the performance of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2022 (available only in Czech version<\/a>). The role of the central coordinator for the preparation and performance of the CZ PRES is performed by the Government Office, on whose website<\/a> (www.eu2022.cz) updated information on CZ PRES is available.<\/p>\n

Following the Government Resolution No. 427\/2003 on Institutional Provision of the Czech Republic's EU Membership and on the Coordination of the Decision-making process, as amended (last amended by Government Resolution No. 571\/2007 amending certain Government Resolutions in connection with the Czech Republic's EU Membership) \u00daNMZ has been charged with the coordination of activities of the EU Council Working Group G7 on Technical Harmonisation (WG G7)<\/strong> at national level. In that capacity, \u00daNMZ is involved in the activities of the Technical Harmonisation and Consumer Sector Group, which is a working body of the Resort Coordination Group of the Ministry of Industry and Trade for EU issues in the field of technical harmonisation and consumer protection, and in the activities of the Committee for EU at the working level as its associate member.<\/p>\n

WG G7 consists of several working subgroups<\/a>, the composition of which changes depending on the priorities of the individual presidencies of the Council of the EU and the state of play of discussions on the relevant legislative proposal.<\/p>\n

In the framework of the CZ PRES in the second half of 2022, the Czech Office for Standards, Metrology and Testing (\u00daNMZ) was charged with chairing of two subgroups of the WG G7<\/strong>, in which the following legislative proposals falling under the direct competence of \u00daNMZ are discussed (more detailed information on the state of play of their discussion is available on Latest developments in the scope of \u00daNMZ:<\/p>\n

Construction products<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down harmonised conditions for the marketing of construction products, amending Regulation (EU) 2019\/1020 and repealing Regulation (EU) 305\/2011<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

In the case of agendas outside the scope of \u00daNMZ, which are discussed in PS G7 subgroups, or it is assumed that their discussion will be started under CZPRES, an agreement was reached with the relevant responsible authorities (Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Transport) and the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to EU to provide presidential teams.<\/p>\n

Within CZ PRES, a representative of the \u00daNMZ also alternates the chairman of the Working Group of the Council for Competitiveness and Growth - Industry (PS G1)<\/strong> during the discussion on the draft amendment to Regulation (EU) No 1025\/2012 on European standardisation <\/strong>(Draft Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Regulation (EU) No. 1025\/2012, as regards decisions of European standardization organizations regarding European standards and products of European standardization)<\/em><\/a>, which is under the responsibility of \u00daNMZ.<\/p>\n
