Harmonised standards for thermal energy meters

The European Commission has issued Implementing Decision No 2025/1939, amending Implementing Decision (EU) 2021/1402 as regards harmonised standards for heat energy meters developed in support of Directive 2014/32/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council.
In accordance with Article 14 of Directive 2014/32/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council, measuring instruments which comply with harmonised standards or parts thereof, the references of which have been published in Official Journal of the European Union, are in conformity with the essential requirements set out in Annex I to that Directive and in the relevant specific Annexes to that Directive for the particular types of measuring instruments covered by those standards or parts thereof.
The above-mentioned implementing decision concerns the following harmonised standards:
- EN 1434-1:2022 Thermal energy meters - Part 1: General requirements
- EN 1434-2:2022 Thermal energy meters - Part 2: Design requirements
- EN 1434-4:2022 Thermal energy meters - Part 4: Tests for type approval
- EN 1434-5:2022 Thermal energy meters - Part 5: Tests for initial verification
- EN 1434-6:2022 Thermal energy meters - Part 6: Installation, commissioning, monitoring and maintenance
