Participation in meetings of EC working bodies

Working bodies of the European Commission

ÚNMZ ensures representation of the Czech Republic in the working bodies of the European Commission - comitology committees and expert groups established by European legislation which fall within the remit of the Authority. A list of these working bodies, including contact persons, is given in the table below.

Membership and priorities of the European Commission

The current European Commission was approved by the European Parliament on 27 November 2024 and took office on 1 December 2024, thereby commencing its five-year term. The President of the College, Ursula von der Leyen, implemented changes to the EC’s organisational structure and appointed individual Commissioners as heads of project teams responsible for specific policy portfolios. Valdis Dombrovskis (Latvia) will lead trade and economic affairs within the Commission, energy policy and housing issues by Dan Jørgensen (Denmark), whilst Henna Virkunnen (Finland) is Executive Vice-President for Technological Sovereignty, Security and Democracy. The internal market portfolio is led by Stéphane Séjourné (France). The Czech European Commissioner, Josef Síkela, is responsible for the international partnerships portfolio. Details of the Commission’s composition, its working methods and the distribution of portfolios among individual Commissioners are set out at the EC website.

On 21 October 2025, the European Commission published its Work programme for 2026 entitled „Europe’s Independence Moment“, which focuses on building a stronger and more sovereign EU with an emphasis on security and competitiveness.

Representation at meetings of EC working bodies

1. Representation in EC committees, working/expert groups

a) Sectors under the responsibility of the IOMH

b) Sectors for which ÚNMZ has a co-responsibility for the authorisation/notification of conformity assessment bodies

c) Contact persons for other New Approach Directives (MIT responsibility)
